Family-owned on Mockingbird Lane since 1969 — the first true bridal boutique in Dallas–Fort Worth. Fifty-six years, six hundred gowns, and three generations of one family who still know every bride by name.
A Mockingbird bride · cathedral lace
Helen Shelton opened her first salon in Oak Cliff in 1954, then moved the family to 5602 East Mockingbird Lane in 1969 — and built what became the first true bridal boutique in Dallas–Fort Worth. One room. One family. One promise: that no bride leaves unseen.
Fifty-six years later, Helen's granddaughters — Amber and Ashley — run the floor. The same family. The same rule. The same address, one block from Mockingbird Station, where generations of North Texas brides have said yes.
We carry five couture houses by name — Demetrios, Pronovias, Casablanca, Allure, and Stephen Yearick — in sizes zero to thirty, with no separate room and no separate experience for any bride.
Three generations of brides have walked out our doors and straight into the Dallas story — rooftop first looks, garden ceremonies, and downtown receptions. We don't just sell the dress. We've been part of this city's weddings since 1969.
A curated room beats a crowded one. For over half a century we've stocked the designers Dallas brides ask for — samples and in-stock styles, sizes 0 to 30.
Sculpted lace mermaids, dramatic trains, statement backs.
European couture, fluid crepe, refined embroidery.
Romantic silhouettes, hand-placed lace, timeless lines.
Body-skimming styles, soft tulle, garden-bride florals.
Crystal-embellished ballgowns in champagne and ivory.
A full floor of mother and special-occasion looks.
Fitted bodice, full skirt. The most photographed shape on the floor.
Tapered through the bodice, falling cleanly. The quiet best-seller.
Body-skimming crepe, satin, silk. For restraint, not volume.
Sculpted to the hip, released into a sweeping lace train.
Soft tulle, hand-cut florals, bell sleeves. For Texas outdoor light.
Crystal-embellished ballgowns in champagne and ivory tones.
From sample 0 to a true 30. No separate room. No separate experience.
Cathedral and fingertip veils, headpieces, sashes, and jewelry.
The fitting room is small enough to listen. Bring the people who matter most — a mother, a sister, a chosen few. We bring six hundred dresses and three generations of knowing exactly where to start.
By appointment recommended — call ahead so we can hold a fitting room and a stylist for you. Walk-ins welcome when the floor is open.
Open six days · closed Sundays · late Thursdays until 7:45. Nude, seamless undergarments and a strapless bra help most.
Six stages — most brides find her in one or two appointments, then return for fittings.
Start online or in-person. Pin the silhouettes that pull you — we'll read your taste from the rail.
Call or request a slot. About ninety minutes, your circle, and a member of the family.
Many brides say yes to the very first dress. We don't rush — and we don't oversell.
Designer gowns are made-to-order. Plan for six to nine months from order to delivery.
Trusted alterations. Two to three fittings typical — a gown is finished to your body, not the rail.
Final press, garment bag, last bustle check. Then she's yours.
Not stock photography — these are real brides photographed in their Mockingbird gowns and on our showroom floor. The collection turns over constantly; come see what's arrived this week.
